What we want to change
What we want to change at HKS, plus everything else students raise, tracked in the open.
Priority 1
Better Career Support
Career support should scale with the class, with more OCA capacity, stronger relationships with recruiters and employers, and an alumni network that is genuinely easy to reach.
OCA & Recruiting
- Push for substantially more OCA capacity and shorter waits.
- Build stronger relationships with recruiters and employers.
- Better international recruiting support and visa/CPT/OPT guidance.
- More fellowships, practitioner opportunities, and entrepreneurship support.
Alumni Access
- Make the alumni network easier to access and navigate.
- Systematize connections between students and alumni.
- Advocate for lifetime access to an HKS affiliated alumni email or another sustainable HKS digital identity after graduation.
Priority 2
HKS Grew. Capacity Should Too.
As the student body grows, the resources around it need to grow too, including course capacity, access to the professors everyone wants, and campus facilities that keep up.
Courses
- Increase capacity in high-demand courses as the student body grows.
- When popular courses cannot fit everyone, create other opportunities to learn from those professors through workshops, study groups, or similar formats.
- Improve the course enrollment and bidding process, including earlier and better course information.
- Reduce avoidable scheduling conflicts between high-demand courses.
Campus Capacity
- Add more charging outlets in common areas and more bike parking.
- Increase Forum refrigerator capacity.
- Explore practical ways to reduce dining hall overcrowding at peak hours.
- Improve L150 audio and other heavily used classroom facilities.
- Review study and collaboration space.
Priority 3
A More Connected HKS
HKS is at its best when programs, years, and student organizations actually connect, through more shared traditions, better coordination, and real student input.
Across programs & years
- More opportunities to connect across MPP, MPA, MPA/ID, MC/MPA and PhDs.
- More connection across years.
- More traditions and gatherings.
- Improve student family and dual/joint-degree support commitments.
Student voice & coordination
- Regular meetings and town halls with student organization and caucus leaders.
- Better coordination between KSSG and student organizations.
- More student input into speakers and debates.

Budget transparency
We will publish the KSSG budget so students can see how their funding is spent.
