Andrew Herron is a U.S. Army senior noncommissioned officer with more than 20 years of public service. His career spans human capital, organizational operations, talent management, and strategic-level personnel policy.
He has led teams, advised senior leaders, and worked across complex organizations to develop people and strengthen institutions. At HKS, he is building on that experience to help create a student government that is responsive, coordinated, and focused on execution.

Public service background
- 20+ years of public service in the U.S. Army, leading teams and supporting organizations from the local level, as well as the Pentagon at the strategic policy level.
- Recently served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for a 2,000+ person organization, responsible for workforce readiness, talent management, and personnel support affecting Soldiers and their families.
- At the Pentagon and Headquarters Department of the Army level, contributed to personnel and talent initiatives with impact across an Army of more than one million Soldiers.
- Experience grounded in service, accountability, and making complex organizations work better for people.
Leadership experience
- Led organizations and advised senior leaders on decisions affecting hundreds of thousands of Soldiers across the Army.
- Experienced in coordinating across teams, navigating complex organizations, and turning priorities into execution.
- I’ll bring that same approach to KSSG: strengthening coordination across the 8 VP portfolios, improving communication, and making sure student concerns don’t stop at being heard, but move toward action.
